Brother HL-1430 is a desktop laser printer with a maximum resolution of 600x600 dpi. Print speed is 14ppm, and the memory is 4 MB. The paper tray holds 250 sheets, but there is a slot for additional manual paper feed. Handling paper sizes A4, B5, B6 and A6. Compatible with both Windows and Mac printer has USB and parallel connection. The dimensions are 360 (W) x370 (D) x235 (H) and weight 9.2 kg.




HL-1430 looks like a traditional laser printers. Brother has managed to limit the size by placing the paper trays in the printer. You can insert one sheet at a time if you want to write on special paper. There is no problem to access the feeder and it can be changed independently of the drum. Menu options are clearly exposed.

The design is straightforward, HL-1430 is large and angular, but is doing well. The tests achieved a print speed of 11 pages per minute makes HL-1430 to one of the fastest printers. Unfortunately, not enough memory to 4 MB to demanding office environments, which is a shame because a generous paper input and low noise level would otherwise make the HL-1430 suitable for the office. It is an affordable product with reasonable operating cost. Installation is simple with the help of educational information on CD ROM.
